The reverse operation requires another translation, in the other direction. Converting an Excel file to Numbers involves translating from one file format to another. Excel cannot save to a Numbers file format. Casual exchange of simple spreadsheets between Numbers and Excel (with Numbers doing the translation at both ends) works fine, but Numbers is not Excel, and Excel is not Numbers. Pages for iOS, Numbers for iOS and Keynote for iOS are available on the App Store. Which I interprest as you want to open an excel spreadsheet in Numbers.
